Customer & pet records for grooming salons

Every pet's coat, cadence and quirks — on the screen before the clippers come out.

The record a groomer actually needs

A grooming client file is not a mailing list. It is the coat, the size, the temperament, what you did last time and what went wrong. Argus keeps a customer with their phone, a backup number, email and notes — and beneath them every pet, each with breed, size, birthday, microchip number, a photo and its own notes.

You never set a pet's size by hand. Choose the breed and the size follows from it automatically, which is what makes the right price appear at booking and at checkout without anyone thinking about it.

Find anyone, from anything you remember

At the counter you rarely have the tidy version of a name. One search box takes whatever you have and matches across everything at once — and it searches your whole client list, not just the page you are looking at.

  • First name, last name, or both in either order
  • Phone, backup phone, or email
  • The microchip code of any of their pets
  • Results paginated 10, 50 or 100 at a time

Phone numbers are stored in full international form, checked as they are typed using your country as the default. That is what lets a reminder text actually arrive, and it is why Argus can spot that the “new” customer in front of you is one you already have: duplicates are caught on phone or email before a second file is created.

History that tells you what to do next

Open a customer and you see every visit across every branch: the date, the branch, the pet, what was done, by whom, and what it cost. Service names appear in the language you are working in.

Above the visits sits the part that grows your revenue — a grooming cadence for each pet. Argus takes the pet's breed interval, adds it to the last completed groom, and tells you when that dog is due. Overdue pets are flagged in red. That is a rebooking list, not a spreadsheet you have to build.

If you switch it on, Argus will send those reminders for you — one text per pet per grooming cycle, in your salon's language, with a friendly date and a link to your booking page. Groom the dog and the reminder re-arms for next time.

Photos, so you recognise the dog and not just the name

Every pet can carry a photo, cropped in the browser as you upload it and shown as a round avatar through the app. On a Saturday with four Lunas booked, the photo is the fastest way to be sure the right one is on the table.

The details that quietly save arguments

A customer can carry a default discount — the neighbour, the breeder who brings six dogs, the staff rate. It is applied automatically when you check them out, so a promise made months ago is honoured without anyone remembering it.

  • Default discount per customer, pre-filled at checkout
  • Block a customer with a reason — no portal login, no new bookings
  • Archive a customer without destroying their history
  • Owners and admins can open a customer's portal as them to see exactly what they see
  • Export your whole client list to Excel whenever you want it

Every sensitive action — blocking someone, signing in as them, archiving a file — is written to your activity log with who did it, so the record of what happened is not a matter of opinion.

Their own account, with your salon's name on it

Customers are not locked out of their own information. Each one can sign in to your branded portal with a code sent to their phone, keep their pets up to date, add a photo, see their upcoming and past appointments and cancel within your cutoff. Every edit they make is the same record your groomers read — so the file stays current without you typing it.

Questions about customers & pets

How do I find a customer when I only remember the dog?
Type anything into one search box. Argus matches first name, last name, both names in either order, phone, backup phone, email — and the microchip codes of their pets. "Bella's owner" is findable by the chip number on the paperwork in your hand.
Will my groomers see the warning about a dog that bites?
Yes. Notes on the customer and notes on the pet travel with the appointment: a note marker appears on the calendar block and the full text sits in the appointment details, so it is read before the dog is on the table, not after.
How does Argus know when a pet is due again?
Each breed carries a typical grooming interval — six weeks for coats that keep growing, twelve for short smooth coats, and so on — which you can adjust. Argus adds it to the last completed groom to give a next-due date, shows it in the customer's history, and marks it red when it has passed.
Can two pets have the same name?
Across your salon, of course — you will have plenty of dogs called Luna. Under one customer, no: Argus blocks a duplicate name for the same owner, because "which Luna?" at checkout is how the wrong dog gets billed.
